This Special Session will comprise presentations of papers relating to some aspect of architecture and earthquake engineering. While papers that explore the influence that architects and architectural decisions have on the earthquake engineering and earthquake performance of buildings are particularly relevant, papers considering any other subject at the intersection of architecture and seismic design are welcome. Possible topics include: education of architects and architectural students in earthquake engineering, aspects concerning building configuration, non-structural or architectural elements, architectural issues regarding retrofit, architect ?C engineer collaboration, architecture and new seismic design technologies, urban planning issues, and earthquake architecture.
