S17-02 E-Defense Bridge - Verification of Seismic Performance of Bridge Structures Utilizing Large-Scale Shaking Table

Description:
This session invites papers that describe results of full-scale tests, results of member and sub-assemblage tests that support the full-scale tests, and analytical simulation carried out as part of the E-Defense Bridge initiative. This project focuses on the evaluation of both the performance of existing concrete bridge piers and improved performance obtained from effective retrofits. The projects irange from small to medium scale single component tests to a full-scale bridge system test, under quasi-static, pseudo-dynamic, and dynamic loading conditions. The experimental data will also be used to examine the accuracy and limitations of existing numerical analyses.
